Best year yet for the OU Club of Tulsa Scholarship Golf Tournament

The OU Club of Tulsa held its 5th annual Scholarship Golf tournament Friday July 18, 2008 at Battle Creek Golf Club in Broken Arrow. This was our best year yet as we raised $7,029.94 for the club's scholarship fund. With a total of 31 teams, we were very close to being completely full for both sessions.
Congratulations to the winning teams: Morning Flight: Megan Waller-Elliott, Matthew Waller, Scott Waller and Jay Shaw. The Afternoon Flight was won by the team of Brent Cariker, Sandy Chalmers, Tom Kennedy, Colin French and Blake Ferguson.
Thank you to all who participated and have made the tournament such a success over the first five years. Also, thank you to all of our sponsors and OU Celebrities this year.
The 6th Annual OU Club of Tulsa Scholarship Golf Tournament will be held Friday July 17, 2009 at Battle Creek Golf Club in Broken Arrow. Details and entry forms will be available shortly.

Join the OU Alumni Association, OU-Tulsa, OU Club of Tulsa, along with special guest Wayman Tisdale at Mexicali Border Cafe (14 W. Brady in Downtrown) on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 12:00 pm (three hours prior to tip-off).
Lunch will include a chicken and steak fajita buffet. There will also be a cash bar. Mexicali has two free parking lots for guests and we will be running two shuttle buses to and from the BOK Center which is included in your registration.
$15 per person $10 per child (12 and under)
Will be giving away an autographed basketball by Coach Capel and Coach Coale. A pair of men's basketball tickets for a Big XII game will also be given away as a door prize.

Bedlam Food Drive

HEY SOONER FANS . . .
It’s Bedlam food drive time once again, and we have a challenge on our hands. Last year, Arvest Bank, OU and OSU collected more than 6,000 pounds of food for the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, which fed more than 750 families. Currently, donations at the food bank are down 20% and donation requests have increased. This year the goal is to collect 10,000 pounds of food, so we need to get busy! The food bank needs canned fruit and vegetables, peanut butter and canned soup and since the challenge against OSU is based on the number of pounds each school collects – think heavy stuff!
Canned goods can be dropped off until Nov. 30 at any Arvest Bank location, OU-Tulsa, Fox & Hound Pub & Grill at 71st and Garnett, Billy Sims’ BBQ at The Farm and 91st and Memorial and Tulsa Spine & Speciality Hospital at 71st and Hwy 75.
I hate to lose and last year OSU beat OU by 1,100 pounds of food collected! Sooner Fans – I know we can do it! Let’s donate those cans and win the Bedlam Food Drive challenge and the game this year and help the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma meet their donation requests.

OU vs Longhorns - 2008 Legends in Sports "Rivalry" Dinner

Following are links for the 2008 Legends in Sports “Rivalry” Dinner, honoring the rivalry between the OU Sooners and the Texas Longhorns. This event will be held on Mon, Oct 6th at the SpiritBank Event Center in Tulsa, OK. Presented by Tulsa Sports Charities, this event raises funds for scholarships to area colleges (including OU), and also benefits The Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges.

Plans have been made to auction off 4 or 5 autographed 1/2 Texas and 1/2 OU football helmets signed by Coach Darrell Royal and Earl Campbell on the Longhorn half; and Coach Switzer and Billy Sims on the OU half, along with some other exciting autographed memorabilia.

2008 Sooner Caravan
We are gearing up for the 2008 Sooner Caravan – the date is Thursday, June 5, 2008 at OU-Tulsa, so mark your calendars! It’s going to be another great event, as we host Coaches Stoops, Coale and Capel and Joe Castiglione and 1,000 of our closet friends and alumni. This is the Club’s biggest fundraiser and allows us to continue awarding eight scholarships to Tulsa area students who attend OU-Norman and OU-Tulsa. Following is information about the Caravan and a table reservation form in case you would like to attend and purchase a table sponsorship.

It's time to dust off the golf clubs and get ready for the 5th annual OU Club of Tulsa Scholarship Golf Tournament.

This year's event will be held Friday July 18 at Battle Creek Golf Club in Broken Arrow. Registration details will be sent out to all club members in the next couple of weeks.

The OU Club of Tulsa Scholarship Golf Tournament turns 5 this year! This year's event will be held Friday July 18 at Battle Creek Golf Club in Broken Arrow with 2 sessions at 8:00 am and 1:00 pm. The entry form is attached. The event helps raise funds for the scholarships that the OU Club of Tulsa presents each year. The tournament has become very successful and has grown each year, both in dollars raised and attendance. We have raised over $12,000 for the scholarship fund so far, and want to make this the best year yet. If you are not a golfer, but would still like to help, please consider volunteering to help with sponsorships, teams and prizes. If you have questions or would like to volunteer, please contact Brian Dugan at 918-588-6528 or bdugan@bokf.com.
Older news - We have started planning and we need your help! We are need about 10 volunteers to assist in getting sponsorships, prize donations and to help with registration the day of the tournament. If you would like to assist or lead one of these committees, please contact Brian Dugan at 588-6528 or bdugan@bokf.com.
The tournament has grown each year and we have raised nearly $12,000 for the club's scholarship fund. We are in the process of reviewing and hopefully adding a ninth club scholarship based on the success of the tournament.

Bedlam baseball is just around the corner . . . .

Join the OU Club of Tulsa to watch the Sooners beat up on the Pokes at Driller's Stadium on Friday, May 16 at 7:30 p.m. We will be hosting a pre-game cookout, catered by Billy Sim’s BBQ, starting at 5:00 on the racetrack at Driller’s Stadium. Cost for the entire event is $16 per person for members and $20 per person for non-members. If you would like to attend the BBQ only, the cost is $6 for members and $10 for non-members.
